Only 7% of NHF salons say that they are gender neutral in there pricing. So is the hairdressing industry out of step with the modern world?
Would we accept different prices for men and women in any other service, at the dentist, or in a restaurant? NO. Just because of your gender would you expect to pay less in the supermarket for your milk or bread?
We need to change expectations as a lot of men who think £10.00 is steep to pay for a haircut and want a very cut price treatment as it can be done quickly.
It’s about re-education and valuing your hairdresser or Barber. It generally takes the same amount of time to do a gents haircut as it does a ladies wet cut so why charge any less?
Are we going to move more towards an hourly rate and be gender neutral?
